BEYOND THE COASTLINE : EXPLORING ORISSA

 4 Day Trip to Orissa

1st day

For me the real enjoyment of traveling comes in train with everyone sitting, eating, singing together. So we decided to take our trip to orissa by train. We reached Puri railway station in the morning. After reaching the station, we went to our hotel and settle down ourselves. After some rest we decided to go the beach and i was very excited because it was my first time going to beach ever in my life. In order to explore better we walk to the beach. It was mesmerizing especially during the time of sun set. We stayed there until the evening and return to our hotel.

2nd day

On the 2nd day, we get ready for darshan of lord jagannath in the morning around 5 O'clock. We get ready early in the morning in order to avoid gathering because a lot of bhakt gather there every single day. After entering the temple we were asked to deposit our phones and chappals in a counter outside the temple as no photos and videos were allowed inside the temple. We spend our whole day in the temple exploring the age old architecture and enjoying the spiritual environment around there.

JAGANNATH TEMPLE

3rd day

Next day we rent a vehicle to visit the tourist places of bhubaneswar. We went to Sun temple, Lingaraj temple, Mukteswar temple, Dhauli Shanti stupa. But we did not get the chance to visit the chilika lake due to some reason. But we cover as much places as we can on our 3rd day and return to the hotel in the evening.

LINGARAJ TEMPLE

On the last day, we didn't went far but to the beach to watch sun rise and chill there during the day time, we also tried some sea water fish in our lunch. And in the evening we went to the market near the temple and bought some sweets, dry prasad and some gifts like bracelets, pearls, earrings, miniature of lord jagannath etc for the relatives and friends. And the next day we said a goobye to Odisha.

That's how we spend our 4 day trip to odisha.

In this blog post, we will explore the benefits of mindfulness for stress relief and provide tips on how to incorporate mindfulness into your daily life. What is Mindfulness : Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgement. It's about cultivating awareness and acceptance of the present moment, rather than getting caught up in thoughts of the past or worries about the future.         Mindfulness reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol, leading to a decrease in anxiety and stress level. It helps you making it easier to manage your emotions and thoughts in a healthy way. By training your mind to stay present, mindfulness can improve your focus and concentration. Mindfulness pract...

BOOK REVIEW : A LIFE IN WORDS : MEMOIRS by Ishmat Chughtai

A LIFE IN WORDS [Kaghazi Hai Pairahan] Ishmat chughtai was an Indian Urdu novelist , short story writer and filmmaker . And a padma Shri awardee. I recently came through Chughtai's Memoir : A Life in Words and i really loved it. I was not aware of chughtai's writing before memoir . I love how beautifully she reflects her life journey mirroring the social mileu of her time. She describes her every struggle and experiences growing up in a conservative  muslim family like how she starve herself to get the permission of her parents for school, which ultimately change her life by exposing her to the works of realist writers like gorky and chekov , woman rights activist like Rasheed Jahan  and the Progressive Writers Association .  And one of my favourite incidents is her humorous act of hiding her burqa on a train to avoid wearing it. For her, wearing the burqa was nor merely an act of act modesty but a symbolic humiliation and restriction on her intellectual and persona...
